Imagination takes me clean.
Here is the second of two collaborations with “Ulf Pettersson”. That excellent Swedish composer. The title of this one is “I wanna see”. This is a song I wrote as a bit of a parody, but then Ulf heard it and requested to do the music for me. I agreed without hesitation. So this is the result of his efforts. I think it sounds better than the original version I recorded.
Once again, this song does not appear on my album “Sight Or Sound”.
I would love to do more work with Ulf in the future, because I really respect the work he has done so far. Ulf is quite taken by my songs as well. Unfortunately we are both tied up with our own tasks at the moment. Ulf is busy building a catalogue for Film and Television, and I’m busy writing and collaborating with other musicians. It’s likely that you might have heard something by him without even knowing it
This is “I wanna see”:
Here’s a bit more about my Dads life.
My Dad. Part 9.
I think I pointed out previously that my father knew some less than upstanding individuals. I had a variety of friends before my father was a part of my world. It transpired that there was a possibility that some of the friends I made might not have been purely by chance. As a person, I do not judge people. I never have. If somebody was friendly to me, then I spoke to them. Some of my friends advised me more than once that I should avoid mixing with some of the people I met. Nothing bad ever happened on those occasions where I graced their company. I found it amusing how people feared some of the individuals I kept company with. I can honestly say that that is something I never felt. There was never a reason to fear. My attitude was that if anything threatening came along, then you dealt with it. You shouldn’t live in fear. Why worry about something that hasn’t happened? I eventually discovered that they all knew my father. I also discovered that several people I worked with in my youth, were friends of my Dad.
I’m going to say this next bit is alleged. A tale from Cowgate road. My father recounted it clearly. There is no point bringing any court action against him. He’s passed away now. It’s all about the world famous welsh singer “Tom Jones”. I reckon you probably know who he is. The story goes that he took a 14 year old girl into the fields at Cowgate road and had sex with her. The girl became pregnant. I’m not sure what happened to the child, but I think it was lost because the girl died of leukemia. Whether she was willing or not, that kind of act was illegal by English law. I’m not sure if the story ever got out, but it’s quite an astounding story, because he was an adult at the time. I would assume that it was not unusual for something like this to happen in the sixties. It may not come as any surprise that certain members of my family are not very keen on Tom Jones.
To be continued…….
I’ve been getting lots of interest in my album since the release. It’s going to be a few months before it is on sale in all the places it has been sent. It’s currently on CDBaby, Itunes and Amazon. You can find out more on my website at:
Check my links page. You can find a link to Ulf Pettersson’s site, and there are also some free downloads of other songs I’ve written!!
The youtube statistics section now.
The subs are almost there. Tantalisingly close to the 1k mark at 992.
The channel views have raced forward to 23,296, and the total overall video views are 397,648. They’ve increased their daily rate over the last few days.
Lastly….
That is the end of the string of five original compositions. The next few are going to be cover versions. The next one will be “Lost” by “Coldplay”. A song that’s been requested of me quite a few times over the last month.
